Introduction

The Westlake Center for Intelligent Proteomics (WeCIP), under the auspices of the Zhejiang Provincial Laboratory of Life Sciences and Biomedicine, is led by Dr. Tianan Guo, a tenured associate professor at Westlake University. The center will harness the strengths of the Westlake Laboratory, the School of Life Sciences and the School of Medicine at Westlake University, and the Research Center for Industries of the Future, among others. The center’s objective is to advance the field of proteomics by developing high-throughput, automated equipment and reagents for data acquisition. We aim to cultivate omics-based foundational models through an integrated approach that combines spatiotemporal perturbation proteomic analysis with multi-omics and multimodal datasets. Our focus extends to the innovation of diagnostic and monitoring methods for aging and a spectrum of diseases. Additionally, we are dedicated to identifying novel therapeutic targets that may contribute to the development of treatments that can potentially slow down or reverse the aging process and combat tumor growth. This comprehensive work is instrumental in uncovering fundamental biological mechanisms, accelerating the development of novel pharmaceuticals, and enhancing the treatment and diagnostic approaches for various diseases.
